Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause obliteration from the sky to fall on them. Lo! herein surely is a portent for every slave who turneth (to Allah) repentant.
In Saba 34:9, the words “Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky…” bring humility awakened by observing signs in creation and the consequences of our choices into the texture of everyday life. Carry this ayah into salah or quiet reflection, asking which sign should turn your attention back to Allah with repentance and care.
